General Questions

How early in my planning should I book a wedding planner or coordinator?

It definitely depends on your needs, but generally as soon as you know your date and have booked a venue you should try to book your planner.  It helps to at least start talking with a planner so they can help you with your venue hunt.

How do I book with you?

First step will be to have a free consultation so I can get an idea of what package would be best for you, then you will sign our digital contract.

How does payment work?

We take 50% down at time of contract signing and then the rest of the payment will be due 1 month before your wedding. We do accept monthly payments as well!

Do you travel?

I currently reside in Clayton, anything within an hour requires no travel fee. After that, there is a charge per mile driven to compensate for trips to and from the venue. Depending on the distance and wedding a hotel fee may be added on as well.

Do you plan other events than just weddings?

Yes! While weddings are our specialties we have done birthday parties, anniversary dinners, funeral receptions, bridal & baby showers, and any other event you need help with. Pricing will vary based on need and a custom package will be created for you.

Do you help with wedding budgets?

Yes, this is something that is customized to each couple as everyone has different priorities for their wedding day. I try to pinpoint the most important aspects to know what most of the budget should be saved for.

Do you include hand lettering in your packages?

Yes, I do! You can choose for me to write on my mirrors and chalkboard or provide one to me! Here are some examples of my work!

Tips for Booking Vendors

Venues

Find a space that will be big enough for your guest count, it will be worth it to have space rather than crowd in. If the venue requires you to use certain vendors, like caterers, meet them and get pricing before booking the venue. Also, ask what is included on site (tables, chairs, linens, decor, etc.) this will greatly affect your budget.

Photographers

Your photographer is someone you will see the MOST on your wedding day, make sure to choose someone you get along with! When you have your consultation with them ask them to pose you and your fiance a bit to see if you feel comfortable and if you like their posing style. Having good photos is honestly one of the most important parts of your wedding day, it is okay to spend a big chunk of your budget on a photographer you love!

DJ

Before meeting with any DJs talk to your fiance about what style of party you want to have, think about the guests who are coming. Do you want the DJ to jump on the dance floor with you? Do you want the DJ to announce in the mic a lot or keep it minimal? Do you want the DJ accepting all song requests, just requests from the wedding party, or none at all? Do you need a speaker at the ceremony site and the reception space?

Hair & Makeup

These amazing artists are people you will sit with for 30 minutes - 1 hour each while you are brushing off nerves, make sure you have a good connection with them. Ask them about group pricing and timeframe per person.

Officiant

Getting married is a big and legal commitment, it is important to make sure that your officiant is ordained in NC. Most online sites are not valid in NC. Think about if you and your fiance want to participate in premarital counseling. My husband and I loved doing our premarital counseling, it got us talking about topics that we hadn't before! Lastly, think about the style of wedding you want to have and what is important to you as a couple! My husband and I are both strong Christians and it was important to us that we could worship and hear the Gospel at our wedding.

Wedding Planning Help

I just got engaged what do I book first?

Definitely find a venue that you love! Your venue will determine your date based on their availability. Then you should find your planner/day of coordinator next to ensure that you stay on track.

Can I book you before I book a venue?

Yes! I love helping couples find their perfect venue! If you want this option, you could be a "Full Planning" bride.

How do I create my timeline?

No need to worry! I create a custom timeline for all of my couples that includes before the ceremony prep, ceremony, and reception!

How long does it take to plan a wedding?

It all depends on how much choice you want in your vendors. I find that a year is plenty of time, but still with that you may fall in love with a vendor that is booked on your day. If you are planning on having a 2 year engagement starting booking vendors as soon as you can so that you can get the vendors you want and usually at a lower rate!
